Willy Lomans Evaluation as a Tragic Hero essays
Willy Lomans Evaluation as a Tragic Hero expositions In his exposition Tragedy And The Common Man, writer Arthur Miller offers a cutting edge definition for disaster and another measures for the unfortunate legend. Because of his hidden struggle...attempting to pick up his legitimate situation in his general public, Willy is an ideal case of Arthur Millers thought of a sad legend (Tragedy 228).Willy represents four parts of Arthur Millers idealistic grievous saint; he has a shocking defect, he is corrupted by society, his environmental factors appear to plot against him, and regardless of his difficulties he battles against the world to keep up his poise. Sad legends are frequently portrayed on the grounds that they bear a terrible imperfection. Willys evident sad blemish is his pride. He invests heavily in all that he does, he even says, Call out the name Willy Loman and see what occurs!, just to show to his children how much pride he takes in his name (Death 62). His long lasting dream was to carry on with the life of a sales rep and to kick the bucket the passing of a sales rep, and for individuals to perceive his name wherever that he voyaged (Death 81). He battles with the truth that he was fruitless in finishing his fantasy, and will not quit attempting. He gets resentful with his docks when they attempt to clarify that he was a disappointment, for instance when he says, I am not a handicapped person! (Passing 84). He is as it were disabled by his neglection to see reality and just to accept what he sees as reality in his psyche. His unfortunate blemish is a significant part of his capacity to turn into a heartbreaking saint. Willy Loman is maturing and losing his psychological soundness. This is obvious to a large number of the individuals in his condition. They start to imagine him as futile and corrupt him to a lower standard in the public eye. Willy won't understand that he merits just to be considered with a similar regard as any standard man. Arthur Miller says that Tragedy is an outcome of a keeps an eye on all out compulsi... <!

Assessment of a Fictional Family Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Appraisal of a Fictional Family - Essay Example The kid, then again, has his offer in impacting the family too. In the family, when a part, typically a kid or juvenile, has a (mental) clutter, this impact is amplified. Furthermore, for indicative purposes, the impact of the family on the kid and the childââ¬â¢s impact on the family should be evaluated to get ready for ideal treatment, as indicated by Allan M. Josephson, M.D. A complete family appraisal is the way toward recognizing, assembling, and gauging data to comprehend the critical components influencing a childââ¬â¢s security, permanency and prosperity, parental defensive limit, and the familyââ¬â¢s capacity to guarantee the wellbeing of their youngsters (Johnson et al, 2006, p.1). There are a few consecutive capacities remembered for family appraisal, which are (1) screening and general demeanor, which as a rule happens during admission; (2) meaning of the issue, which may incorporate indicative appraisals (or measurement of issue seriousness) that happens during admission and examination strategies; (3) arranging, choosing, and coordinating administrations with recognized issues; and (4) checking progress and assessing administration results (Hawkins, 1979). To put it plainly, the family assumes a significant job in this unique situation, and the job it will play in the treatment procedure ought to be founded on a reasonable case plan whic h can be acknowledged through a total, deliberate, and point by point family evaluation. A decent family evaluation doesnââ¬â¢t just assemble data to have the option to detail an all around made treatment arrangement for the patient, rather it is additionally relationship building. It includes everybody in the family to participate, investigating objectives, qualities, and qualities to help assemble shared trust and regard among them. This relationship can be manufactured when issues emerge - a cut of truth in the colloquialism that issues do make open doors for a more splendid tomorrow. To put it plainly, the family appraisal distinguishes regions for intercession and connects with the family

The Relationship Between A Job And Exercise Essay
The Relationship Between a Job and Exercise: The Evaluation of a Popular Article and a Scholarly Article Samantha Williams General Psychology - PSY 1010 Professor Morrison 14 November, 2016 1. Structural Differences When compared to scholarly articles, popular articles are always watered down versions of the scientific data within the scholarly article. The popular article, in comparison, was written in no particular format by a journalist for a large magazine company. Along with this, the scholarly article utilizes multiple operational definitions in regards to what type of exercise they are observing, yet the popular article simply presents vague and brief descriptions of what the study had looked at. Going deeper into the texts, one finds that the scholarly article uses the terms leisure-time physical activity (which they abbreviate to LTPA), however, the popular article has a striking lack of these terms. Reflection On Diversity And Diversity - 867 Words
Learning to become a leader takes a lot of patience and time to understand that each individual are different and have unique talents that can be useful for the organization. After reading chapter 9, a leader needs to go deeper to learn and understand to each individual that is his or her diversity. Also, a leader needs to include every individual to participate in the activities or meetings. The chapter contains the explanation, the history, practice, and barriers of both diversity and inclusion. I will share my reflection about understanding and using diversity and inclusion to become a better leader. According to the article, diversity is the existence of different cultures or ethnicities within a group or an organization. So itâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Inclusion affects individualsââ¬â¢ experience through the levels of interpersonal, group, leader, organizational, and societal. If one of the levels affected by people reacting to someone different in a negative way, I thin k it going to affect the rest of the levels and cause a new person discomfort and isolated from the group. If I become a leader of my own organization, I want to give each of my followers a voice to get involved and feel included. The components of experiencing inclusion are to make sure that the followers have a sense of feeling secure, get involved in the group, get respected and valued by leader and other followers, have a chance to influence with their ideas, been in an environment where they can be authentic and whole, and have their diversity recognized, attended, and honored. I would take a lot of energy to help each individual depends how many followers are in my organization. Finally, dealing with diversity and inclusion is not an easy road for leaders. The chapter pulls out the barriers that counter to diversity and inclusion, including ethnocentrism, prejudice, stereotypes, and privilege. Ethnocentrism is the tendency for individuals to place their own group at the center of their observations of others and the world. The word ethnocentrism reminds me of children being egocentric in the preoperational stage according to Jean Piagetââ¬â¢s cognitive theory. Hrm 531 Rewriting a Job Description free essay sample
Rewriting a Job Description University of Phoenix Human capital Management HRM/531 June 15, 2011 Rewriting a Job Description * In order to determine the need to create a job position within my business, I need to analyze and measure the assigned tasks and projects. I need to make sure they are being properly distributed to the correct person and are being completed within the desired timeframe. Currently, the Marketing Manager takes on graphic design tasks when the in-house designer is not available to work on the project. This is an indication that there are numerous design projects and not enough graphic designers. The business strategy and job design provide a basic blueprint for the organization in terms of organizing work to accomplish important strategic objectives. Implementing The Job Characteristics Approach to Job Design works best for this position. It holds that certain job characteristics (skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy, and feedback) contribut e to certain psychological states (meaningfulness, responsibility, knowledge of results), which lead to important personal and work outcomes (high internal work motivation and satisfaction, high-quality work performance, low absenteeism and turnover) (Wayne F. We will write a custom essay sample on Hrm 531: Rewriting a Job Description or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Cascio,à 2010). Some of the duties a graphic designer at my company is responsible for are the ability to take creative direction to accomplish a given task, being able to review the project at hand, ask questions that will allow the person to complete a task, and design the job to meet the required date for review. Some performance requirements are, being able to multi-task several projects at one time, the ability to communicate openly and clearly to others regarding project status, and the ability to work with a team and autonomously. The preexisting knowledge and skills that are required for the position are above average skill set in Adobe CS3 or higher, constantly look at and learning new techniques and software upgrades that will improve their efficiency in creating graphic design. * Here is a rewrite of the job posting chosen from Oakley: GRAPHIC DESIGNER Experience:à 3-5 years Rate:à N/A (Full-Time) Job Description OVERVIEW: An individual who performs in the designing of visual communications, typically Graphic Designers will assist in the creative design, production and release of printed materials for businesses. Graphic Designers usually work on catalogs, ads for magazines and newspapers, corporate material, POP and direct mail literature. They work with senior management and designers in designing, assembling, revising and gathering of files to be handed off to a print vendor. BASIC FUNCTIONS: Main Expectations: Ability to take creative direction from Marketing Manager or higher creative lead to accomplish a given task. A graphic designer should be able to review the project at hand, ask questions that will allow the person to complete a task and design the job to meet the required date for review. Able to multi-task several projects at one time. The graphic designer may be given several projects at one time to complete over various timelines. The graphic designer must be capable of determining and allocating the time needed to accomplish each project throughout the day/week to ensure that all projects will be completed at the proper time for each phase of the graphic project timeline. Ability to communicate openly and clearly to others regarding project status. The graphic designer needs to be able to review and determine if they have all information needed to complete a task. If information is missing, the graphic designer must have the initiative to seek out the missing information from the creative lead or be able to communicate to management that a job is on hold until additional information can be gathered. Above average skill set in Adobe CS3 or higher. A graphic designer needs to be fluent in Adobe Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator 3 or higher. Even with this skill set, it is expected that the graphic designer will constantly look at and learn new techniques and software upgrades that will improve their efficiency in creating graphic design. Growing your creative ability. As a graphic designer, it is your responsibility to keep learning new processes and theories in graphic design. In addition, it is important to embrace and understand the company philosophy and branding and continue to create concepts and designs on your own with little or no direction. Ability to collect a finished file for vendor release. An important task of the graphic designer is their ability to properly build, gather and package a graphic project to be handed off to a production designer or print vendor. All linked images, fonts and final laser proofs must match up to the approved hardcopy before it is released to a print vendor. Including making sure all bleeds are correctly added and all colors are correct according to the branding guidelines of the company. The success of a Graphic Designer is a culmination of maintaining and exceeding all of the expectations listed above. This job description was accurately written for a graphic designer at my company, but there are a few edits and additions I made. First, I increased the experience level to 3-5 years rather than 2 years because we have one other entry-level designer who works on basic projects and I would need someone with a little more experience who can work well with senior managers on a professional level . Under Main Expectations, I changed taking direction from senior designer to Marketing Manager. Although I kept the title of this position at Graphic Designer, I plan on eventually making the role a Senior Graphic Designer role that would be over my other entry-level graphic designer. I need to make sure as a graphics designer, the person hired is capable to embrace the role and communicate at a management level. Under Growing Your Creative Ability, I added being able to embrace and understand the companyââ¬â¢s philosophy and branding in order to create concepts autonomously. Currently the Marketing Manager is doing the majority of the research for creative projects for the graphics team, when her time needs to be focused on bigger picture projects and building relationships with existing and new clients. Last, under the Ability to Collect a Finished File For Vendor Release, I added making sure all files are print ready by making sure bleeds are set appropriately and all colors being used in design collateral are correct according to the companyââ¬â¢s branding guidelines. Again, the Marketing Manager receives any new design projects from the graphic designer and adds the bleeds, checks the colors, and packages the file for the printer. This is a task the graphic designer with more than 2 years experience should carry out. This graphic design job description covers details of the desired position my company needs in order to disperse projects accordingly and to the correct employees. This new position will free up the time needed in certain areas so that the management can efficiently do their jobs to the fullest of their capacity. References Wayne F. Cascio. ( 2010). Chemical Welfare in War Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Chemical Welfare in War - Essay Example A study on the wind patterns in the surrounding area had earlier on been undertaken by the German meteorologists to ascertain the most effective location to place the gas cylinders. The opponents of war-the French soldiers were never prepared to face this particular lethal weapon deployed by the German soldiers what immensely resulted in fatal deaths and casualties (Fitzgerald, 2008, p. 611-625). The main objective of the use of the chemical weapons by the German soldiers was to certainly weaken their opponents. There are particularly a number of gases deployed by the different opponents in World Wars depending on the harm these allies wished to inflict on their opponents. Teargas was the first chemical weapon to be used in the World War 1 (Fitzgerald, 2008, p. 611-625). Teargas a 26mm grenade full of the ethyl bromoacetate gas was first used by the French soldiers in 1911. The chemical weapon was later on adopted by the German soldiers who used it against the British soldiers. Mustard gas was popularly used by the German soldiers and perceived to be one of the most effective chemical weapons to have been used in the First World War (Fitzgerald, 2008, p. 611-625). Phosgene gas and the chlorine gas were also deployed by the different allies in World wars. The Phosgene gas and the chlorine gas are perceived to be more deadly for they resulted in more fatal consequences than the Mustard gas even when administered in small amounts. However, through the warring years, the mustard gas was declared the ââ¬Ëking of Battle Gassesâ⬠following its ability to cause eye injuries, lung injuries and result into blisters that were very hard to treat(Fitzgerald, 2008, p. 624). This made the soldiers exposed to the gas keep off the battlefield for quite a long time.

Select 3 artworks designed by 3 graphic artists of your choice Essay
Select 3 artworks designed by 3 graphic artists of your choice. Following an extensive research on the elements and principles - Essay Example The message in it is feeling good. Although there is a sense of humor in the design of this work, this has not overridden the sense of seriousness in it because his sincere thoughtfulness and intimate approach elevate his design. Evidently, the graphic designer has managed to achieve a commendable presentation of the elements and principles of art in this piece of work. The color selection and distribution has been wisely done and this has created a good tonal contrast, enhanced harmony in the artwork and helped to mark out the shapes of the various components of the artwork more clearly. There is a good contrast between the various components of the art like the acacia trees, the shrubs, the Good design and the sky. Texture and shape are well brought out in the artwork using shapes, color and lines. A single look at artwork is enough to reveal that the acacia leaves are smooth but they have sharp thorns and the branches of the shrubs are sharp and prickly. The artist has managed to stimulate the ââ¬Ëfeel good moodââ¬â¢ through a strategic positioning of the Good design, using color contrast and shape to emphasize on it and the use of the bright color tones around it. The tactful tilting of G and d is powerful enough to provoke limitless feeling of happiness in the viewers of the artwork. There is a good use of space and representation of distance through a careful selection of color shades, use of light and size of objects. For example, bigger and light objects represent the nearest distance while the furthest part of the sky is represented by the dark blue color. Generally, the artwork is of a good scale, it is well balanced and all the components are proportional. No component is too big or small for its location and neither is one-half of the artwork more overloaded than the other one. This work is both directional and emphatic. wiu.edu (1) defines direction as the visual path the viewerââ¬â¢s eye will follow. Direction has been created using color and observers can easily assume their standing point behind the dark leaves and focus towards the artworkââ¬â¢s focal point, the Good design. By paying attention to the smaller details of this work, Sagmeister managed to come up with a piece of graphic art that offers something new every time one looks at it. Bobby Logic Bobby Logic is one graphic artist who strongly believes that artwork is a mood shifter and awakens the inner soul of man. This is clearly evidenced by the artistââ¬â¢s pieces of work including the Sancta Margot, a piecework he produced in 2011. Seemingly, the intention of this art is to enlighten the hearts and minds of those who see it by generating a dramatic mood. The artist has achieved this very well. The selection of bright colors, especially for the Sancta Margot and the bubbles is powerful enough to electrify the mind of the viewers and bring radiant beauty, making life colorful and vibrant. The artist also deserves credit for his careful use of line to enhance the mood of the artwork. The soft sensitive lines of the face and arms were effective in creating a graceful image, which is powerful enough to generate emotional attachment unlike when he could have used a heavy gesture line or mechanical lines. The representation of the bubbles as round, bright and smooth is helpful in drawing the viewers of this artwork into a solemn moment of reflecting on the good and pleasurable side of life. The careful use of lines and color has also helped to enhance shape, tonal

Managing Enterprise in Health and Social Care
Managing Enterprise in Health and Social Care Nita Nathaniel TASK ONE Entrepreneurs are people who move forward toward risky situations or pursuing opportunities which others see as threats or problems. They are classed as founders of businesses large and small by starting a self-employed service or buying a shop or franchise retail outlet. They are individuals who are innovative in nature and put their ideas into action by creating a new product and introducing it in a market or bring about an operational change in an existing business. They are characterised as people who are flexible not rigid and that is why they are tolerant with ambiguity. They are self-confident and with a passion for what they do, they go all out to achieve it with high levels of energy. They love independence and therefore want to have full control of all and be self-reliant Entrepreneurs usually come from families with the same parentage of entrepreneurs and therefore having life experience and the same desire towards creativity they innovate and start a business. There are s ome misconceptions about entrepreneurs like money is the key to their success, they have a business degree or they are young and gamblers because they are risk takers (Anthonyââ¬â¢s lecture notes, 2014). Entrepreneurship means risk taking behaviour combined with strategic thinking that creates new opportunities for people, resulting in monetary and personal satisfaction rewards. People become entrepreneurs either due to necessity because of lack of employment opportunities or career options or because they are looking for solution to problems or trying new, innovative ways regarding some big social issue like homelessness. There is a changing phase in entrepreneurship. Nowadays there are more and more women becoming entrepreneurs (Anthonyââ¬â¢s lecture notes, 2014). Small businesses are characterised as owned and operated independently with 500 or less employees. The changing face of technical advancement has been a blessing for entrepreneurs as most of the small businesses are internet based. They are mostly based on family ownership which usually involves succession problems and family feuds. Not all small businesses flourish. Some fail and that is due to poor financial control, fast growing pace, not sufficient commitment and lack of experience, expertise and strategic leadership. Every entrepreneurial company or creative venture has a life cycle of three stages: birth, breakthrough and maturity and each stage demands different managerial ways of handling it. The birth stage can be defined as a fight for existence and survival, dealing with getting finances and customers and starting the company. The breakthrough stage is moving towards growth by becoming profitable and the maturity stage deals with moving wisely with investment of resources open to flexible ideas for expansion and further growth. A new venture or business should have a plan including items like an executive summary and an analysis of the industry with a description of the company, market, operations, product and services and staffing along with a marketing strategy and the capital to start the business, a financial backup to cross the milestones. Different forms of ownership include sole ownership, partnership which could be general, limited or limited liability or a corporation or a limited liability corporation. There are different ways of securing finance for the new business either as debt or equity finance. Equity finance alternatives include angel investors, initial public offerings (IPO) and venture capitalists The plan should have an attached copyright (Anthonyââ¬â¢s lecture notes, 2014). Entrepreneurial orientation is of great importance in the health and social care business sector. It is the most changing and diverse market ever hence the need for entrepreneurship. New diseases like dementia and Alzheimerââ¬â¢s and infections like the novo virus and other bugs, all need new remedies and medication and all new innovations need risk takers to keep going till they find that one product to launch into the market. With the ever evolving technology advancement which helps as drugs can be made faster and the production gets increased immeasurably. Some diseases which are quite old like cancer but yet do not have a cure need more innovative minds to strive for a medication to help because without a cure more and more people are contracting it with no help in sight. The few treatments are old and not so effective and expensive. With more people needing treatment we need to find more cost effective ways. People change and so do their circumstances, situations, habits and needs and therefore health social care has to change to accommodate these needs. We deal with diverse cultural backgrounds. All the major drug companies started with entrepreneurship and are now well established. Some of them have on going changes with regards to treatment technology and the invention of new drugs and they are thriving but there are others who are not so innovative and hence are on the decline. Most hospitals are facing a crisis because people are coming with newer infections and problems and they need more space, more drugs, more finance and faster control measures which are all dependent on entrepreneurship. TASK TWO Case Study Border Cottage Care started from humble beginnings and then taking it through change became a major player in their community and is still considering further changes to move with the changing times to reach higher goals. The care company owners Richard Brightmore and Sarah Jordan realised that the elderly and the physically and mentally disabled adults in their community of Wakefield district wanted to maintain their independence and remain in their own homes and not in a residential care or nursing home. They saw the opportunity and moved from their office from their home into a business centre, employing just 4 staff and took advantage of the all-inclusive fee, professional office surroundings and onsite staff support providing business advice and guidance. Gap Analysis in management literature is described as the comparison between the actual performance and the potential desired performance (Wikipedia, 2014). The care company owners understood their potential customers and keeping their requirement in mind and aligning the vision of their company with their customersââ¬â¢ demands changed the direction of their company in order to reach their potential desired goal of expanding and growing and moving with the times. PEST (Political, Economic, Social and Technological) analysis is used as a business measurement tool to understand the market growth or decline which in turn determines the position, potential and direction of any business. Another interpretation is STEEPLED which includes all aspects ââ¬â Social, Technological, Economic, Environmental, Political, Legal, Ethical and Demographic. In most situations the original PEST covers all the factors. Demographic factor gets covered in the Social issue and Ethical factors could b e included in both Social or political Factor. Ecological and Environmental factors could be placed under any one or all four PEST factors depending upon their effect. A SWOT analysis is used to measure a business unit, idea or a proposition (Anthonyââ¬â¢s lecture notes 2014). The PEST analysis in this case study would include the following: The PEST factors are external factors which answer the why, when and what questions of any business. With all the help and support from Wakefield councilââ¬â¢s managed workspace team and business advisors the companyââ¬â¢s turnover grew substantially. All the extra profits gave way to options of expansion in wider spheres of Day Care Centre and home care division with more employment opportunities for more local people. After getting a profile on their target customers of elderly people wanting to stay in their own homes within the community enjoying their independence with some outside help through care assistants the company decided to open a care agency to provide the same exactly the direct alternative to their original business plan of opening a nursing or care home. The gap analysis tool helped the company owners to see the potential business idea and change their business plans and turn them around to fit the market. They recognised the opportunity through the profiling process of their customers. The customers are all elderly, physically and mentally disabled adults who will need some care and support depending on their exact situation which will be assessed after scrutiny of their medical records, their living standards dependent on the money available to them and through what sources and other demographics of their ethnicity and background. As the elderly will be in the age group of 60 and above but the physically and mentally disabled could be in different age groups and therefore their care and support will differ significantly. The other important factor is that they want to stay in their own homes and this also would be for different reasons. Could be that they are mobile and want their independence or they want to live in their surroundings with the memories of their families. The reasons could be as varied as each individual. So Border Cottage Care was born but for it to flourish the owners had to move into a business centre in order to get all the professional help and business advice and support. This move was the result of the external or pest analysis as described above. As their company grew and their contacts increased so did their business. They expanded into other areas of care namely the day care centre and homecare division. Any work done with a passion will prove to be successful and therefore as the owners of this company seem to work in alignment t o its mission they are confident of the service that they provide to their clients through their highly trained staff and the training itself is provided by the council college. They already have had their first inspection and have been rated as ââ¬Å"3 star excellentâ⬠by the CQC. So this companyââ¬â¢s management knows how to use the resources that are at their disposal and to put them to the best use of their business. By the continuing of the external analysis process they are in a position to know their competitors and also they have to be one step ahead of them to beat them in the business arena. They need to expand and dominate all the different areas of care in their district in order to continue to have their place in the market with a profit. Richard Brightmore, director of Border Cottage Care mentioned in his speech about all these achievements and acknowledged the support they had received from the district council and hoped for its continuation for the future growth of the business. As the new additions of the day centre and providing high quality care to more local residents means recruiting more local staff. As the company is expanding so is the staff at all levels but as the head of the company the owners are now contemplating whether the senior level management staff is equipped with the expertise and the extra skills required for its growth to other areas. To ensure that they have the right people in key leadership positions to take the company growth to new heights and horizons some companies turn to assessment companies who can help them evaluate the capabilities of their senior level managers. This assessment is based on mainly the SWOT analysis of their own company and comparing it with its competitorââ¬â¢s staff for its future direction and growth with the competitive advantage. Competitive advantage meaning meeting the customerââ¬â¢s needs better with lower costs and maximum customer satisfaction. For a company to monitor its competitive success it is imperative for the companyââ¬â¢s managers to understand the company costs and skills it has in comparison to its competitors company. Cost differences arise due to the levels of investments in the infrastructure based on its employeeââ¬â¢s skills and productivity. In the UK the NHS Direct via the internet was promoted to help patients get medical information faster through the internet which helped them to increase their knowledge and direct their own health care (Hannagan, 2002). TASK THREE Health and Social Care Businesses are expensive to start or to expand to keep in the market with a profit hence they need to be protected in all circumstances which is why we need insurance policies to fall on in times of need. Unforeseen circumstances or situations are all part of everyday life and we cannot always prevent them all but we can make prior arrangements to cushion the impact in the unlikely event of some occurrence beyond our immediate control. That is where the legal framework of the business becomes a core and crucial part without which we could not move ahead. This legal framework revolves round insurance companies which take care of the financial side of the business after unexpected occurrences affect it. The working of an insurance company is that we have a deal with them and they charge a certain amount and if and when an unexpected occurrence does happen, they deliver the service of providing the cash for recovery and repair or whatever the terms might hold in t he contract. If the business is accident prone or any other circumstances which can be foreseen as being damaging or affecting the business negatively then the charge is higher or a premium rate is included. The insurance companies utilise the services of underwriters who help by creating matching portfolios by assessing the risks and accepting them with the factors that make them behave in similar fashion. Insurance companies need these services of underwriters to protect their own businesses from ruin or disaster (Anthonyââ¬â¢s lecture notes, 2014). Although there are some similarities between Copyrights, Patents and Trademarks but all these kinds of intellectual property protections are different and serve different purposes. Copyright provides protection for the original works of authorship both published and unpublished including artistic, dramatic, literary, and musical and some others. The copyright act of 1976 gave the right to authors to make any changes that they wanted to their piece of work at any time (general information concerning patents, 2014), (Patten, 2008). So copyright would help medical writings and descriptions of the makeup of medicines. Patents are granted rights for inventions to their inventors excluding anyone else selling or importing or using that right. The patent is generally for a period of 20 years from the date of its application (general information concerning patents, 2014), (Patten, 2008). In the health industry this is used in inventions of medicines, vaccines and researches. Trademark is a device, name, symbol or word used by a company to distinguish it from the others and for others from preventing them to make a confusingly similar model (general information concerning patents, 2014), (Patten, 2008). Trademarks usually help in selecting the branded medicines as they are more effective in some cases due to continued research and are more costly. These legally enforceable agreements are important for any new business ventures but more so in the field of health care. The health care field is an historic field which has seen many inventions through researches of centuries past to develop new drugs for new and complex diseases and disorders and genetic problems. Scientists are always working on new ideas and turning the old ones inside out to find cures to incurable maladies. REFERENCES Anthonyââ¬â¢s Lecture Notes, 2014. Wikipedia, 2014 [Online]. 2nd Order Vanity
2nd Order Vanity Rick Vigorous is a very jealous finance and pays his therapist, Dr. Jay, to find out everything Lenore thinks. Rick believes this is helping him in his relationship but itââ¬â¢s actually causing conflict and loss of money. This is the typical case of jealousy doing more harm than good. Rick and Lenore are engaged. Rick is 18 years older than Lenore, is divorced, has a son, and is also CEO of Frequent and Vigorous, where Lenore also works. The two met at Dr. Jays.Rick is extremely jealous of Lenore and believes that any unmarried man is a threat to his relationship. Rick continues to see Dr. Jay because he tells him everything Lenore confides in him. Rick is so obsessed that when Lenore doesnââ¬â¢t immediately show up for work he writes in his journal, ââ¬Å"Lenore, come to work, where I am, remove yourself from the shower and come to work nowâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (32). The weirdest part of all is that when Lenore isnââ¬â¢t sleeping in the bed with Rick, Rick will h ave a dream about sexually pleasuring Queen Victoria with a tortoise shell hairbrush.Rick suffers greatly from second order vanity. ââ¬Å"A second order vain person will sit up late learning jokes in order to appear funny and charming, but will deny that he sits up late learning jokes. Or heââ¬â¢ll perhaps even try to give the impression that he doesnââ¬â¢t regard himself as funny at allâ⬠. Rick may not try to be funny but, he will use Dr. Jay to get info on Lenore and then try giving the opposite impression that he is simply using Dr. Jay for professional help. Rick attempts to hide his obsession with Lenore from her.Even when Lenore gets suspicious of Dr. Jay and Rick working as a team, Dr. Jay goes so far as to lie for Rick and deny the accusation. He also writes about trying to have sex with one of Lenoreââ¬â¢s shoesâ⬠¦ ââ¬Å"I will confess that I, once in a moment of admittedly irresponsible degeneracy, tried to make love to one of the shoes, a 1989 All-Star high-top, when Lenore was in the shower but failed to be able to bring the thing off, for familiar reasons. â⬠(Wallace 59). He also believes that Dr. Jay is secretly in love with Lenore; Dr.Jay just tells Rick he is insecure. Another example of Rickââ¬â¢s insecurity is the way he acts when he meets Wang Dang Lang in the gay bar. He notices that he hasnââ¬â¢t peed once after drinking so many beers. Rick thinks that this is manly and admires Wang for that and decides he wonââ¬â¢t pee until Wang pees, or else that will show weakness. Rick ultimately comes up with an excuse to use the bathroom. He tells Wang he wants to see if his initials are still carved in the stall from when he went to college. Wang Dang Lang follows behind him.Rick even admires the way Wang Dang Lang takes a leak and aims for the deodorant. Rick and the guy who suffers from second order vanity act like theyââ¬â¢re not trying to hide their insecurities in the first place. This is something people suffer with daily. Lenore is just a kind person with some insecurity, but not nearly as much as Rick. She is a little lost trying to find her place in the world, which is why she sees Dr. Jay to help her with identity struggles. Lenore has a successful father with lots of money but she chooses to work a minimum wage job at Frequent and Vigorous. Her grandmother Lenore, who she visits all the time, is MIA and her brother LaVache has a fake leg with drawers for hiding his weed. Lenore suffers from hygiene anxiety and Rick estimates she showers about 5-8 times a day. She spends most of her time with Dr. Jay discussing hygiene anxiety, which basically means she feels dirty in stressful situations. Dr. Jay just wants Rick and Lenoreââ¬â¢s money and will do anything to get it. For example: betraying Lenoreââ¬â¢s trust by telling everything she talks to him about to Rick. Then when Lenore tells Dr.Jay sheââ¬â¢s out of money and canââ¬â¢t see him, Dr. Jay advises her to come back as soon as she gets money because he is ââ¬Å"here for herâ⬠, and toâ⬠get Rick to give her moneyâ⬠. Dr. Jay is a quack and a con artist! All Dr. Jay talks about is the smell of breakthrough. Lenore calls Dr. Jay, ââ¬Å"the worst psychologist of all timeâ⬠. She pays him roughly 2/3 of what she makes and still continues to see the guy! In the story about the man who suffers from second order vanity, he goes to enormous lengths to hide his vanity from his beautiful girlfriend which whom he lives with. This is just like Rick.

Motion in inferno
The entrance into the second circle of hell marks a descent, a motion downwards, and this type of action is significant both in this fifth canto and throughout the whole of Danteââ¬â¢s Inferno. The theme of motion is dominant in this episode through the use of the winds and rains. It also comes out in other subtler motions that intertwine with the shades and the sins that brought them to this their eternal home. The motions involved here are very frictional. They tell of coming and going, as well as of the conflict between the two. These motions depict a large amount of antagonism, yet they also tell of passivity and subjugation. They underline the posture of the persons involved as well as accentuate their roles in the epic. The motions evident in the poem also give insight into the nature of the hell being depicted. Much can be understood about the degree of the soulsââ¬â¢ torment by the types of motion to which they are subjected. The motions of Minos make him out to be a wiel der, and this gives him an air of being in charge. He wields his tail, and with that authority. He ââ¬Å"girdlesâ⬠and ââ¬Å"entwinesâ⬠himself, and this motion is symbolic of the extent to which those sent to him will be bound and tormented in hell (Alighieri, 15). It is interesting that the degree of hell itself is depicted itself by a girdling, as each degree entwines a more horrifying one. This shows a unity of action between the motions of Minos and the nature of hell itself. The spirits ââ¬Å"come there before himâ⬠(15) and their movement toward him takes place in a manner of subjection. They are at his mercy, just as they will be at the mercy of the events of the hell to which his motion will whisk them. One almost gets from it the idea of the spiritsââ¬â¢ genuflection before an elevated Minos. He sends, and that idea depicts a motion away from himself; but it also demonstrates mastery, as the souls who go away from him do so at his bidding. Then, the mot ion with which he sends them is akin to the manner in which they are taken. They are whirled away to the place of their doom.Motions of coming and going occur regularly in this place of gale forces. The motion of the winds is demonstrated by a coming and going. The motion from one circle of hell to the next dooms that spirit to spend eternity in a much more horrifying place. What is more is that each frictional motion to and fro, each coming or going, often happens in fast succession one upon the other, so that it almost seems that they occur at once. The spirits are forced into this frenzied motion by the winds: ââ¬Å"hither, thither, down, up it carries themâ⬠(15). This motion echoes their plight. They are forced to come to this place, though in the same instant that they must come, their will is to go. This oscillating motion is indicative of the fact that decision is not granted those who have been condemned to hell. Hell is a place that commands, and all who go there must heed its every whim. There is also nothing inherently rational about that place, or at least its orders are not bound to be so. The vacillation of the winds shows that caprices of punishment are to be expected. Yet all will be punishment.Ideas of combat and battles are expressed by the motion in the passage. Warfare and all that is connected with such an event is present in the episodeââ¬â¢s movements. Looting and plundering are involved in these events. The place is described as moving ââ¬Å"as the sea does in a tempest, if it be combated by opposing windsâ⬠(15). The winds arise again in this image, but this time their motion creates an atmosphere of battle. This place is one of fighting, where the event smites and molests the ââ¬Å"spirits in its rapineâ⬠(15).The whole atmosphere is described as a restless hurricane that pummels the souls that come within its domain. It rushes and blasts them, so that its very motion is of a type that harms and invites (impossibl e) retaliation. The only record of the soulsââ¬â¢ giving back damage is in their lamentation, which smites the speaker as he comes near them. Though it is a battle, it is one that is already won for hell. Its pounding motions perpetrate upon its prisoners a torment that grants them no repose.Another motion that depicts the nature of hell is its ability to impose its will upon the damned souls. This ties in with the ideas that have gone before: the souls are often being carried and led. The shades are borne along by strife (15), and their motion in the air forms that of a long line, as the captives are being led in the train of death and damnation. This subjugation to the will of the forces of darkness mirror the subjection these souls once had to their own evil lusts. They are described as having been ââ¬Å"called by desireâ⬠(16); called, not just in the sense of a foreign summoning but in the necessity they feel to move toward the source of the calling. These souls find th emselves in hell because of influences upon their actions that have caused their motions toward things. It depicts a resignation to forces that cause actions that in turn lead to the peril of the damned, on whose part passivity (the lack of autonomous motion) is implied. This idea is extended in the stories of those whose love was the precipitant of their doom; it, in effect, was the catalyst of their motion toward hell. This love led them, and they in their passivity allowed themselves to be led. In fact, when the speaker addresses one of the souls described as being in motion ââ¬Å"through the lurid airâ⬠(16), the same soul is described as ââ¬Å"benign,â⬠and this gives an idea of stillness and passivity that hints that the energy for its motion is generated by an outside source.Love is a slave-driver to all of them, continually making them move toward things they otherwise might not have chosen. Some even killed themselves for love, and this signifies a motion toward death that ushered their entrance into hell. Strangely, Achilles was somehow able to deviate slightly from this trend. He, after being ruled by love for so long, makes a motion toward self-government and fights with love. There is no evidence of his triumph, however, as he remains one of the captives of hell.In order to allow the lover Francesca to tell her story, the motions of the winds hush and the seas become quiet. A level of calm is depicted in the cessation of the motion of elements even beyond the dominion of hell. The city of the speakerââ¬â¢s birth rests its weight upon the seashore, and this motion effects the stillness of the waves. The river Po is seen as descending in order to have peace, so it too moves from motion to stillness. Prior to this, a quasi-invocation to the ââ¬Å"King of the universeâ⬠(16) was given by the speaker for Francescaââ¬â¢s peace. Its effect is this stillness that would allow her to speak of happier times, and grant her at least a res pite, if not complete relief. This seems to point toward a purgatorial notion of hell, where the living can pray to God for the succour of the damned. It implies that the motions of hell that grant agony to the spirits can be shielded by a divine Hand, further implying that hell itself is driven by an even greater power than itself. It is evident that the images of motion in the fifth canto of Danteââ¬â¢s Inferno create a dynamic theme that moves the reader along from the entrance to the portal through to the other dimensions of hell. The motions are indicative of the authority of hell over the souls that are quartered there. Ideas of abasement are dominant in the soulsââ¬â¢ lack of autonomy, in their compulsion to do the will of the forces that surround them.Their spirits are flung upon winds, just as in life their wills were navigated by their desires. Other motions tell of a hell as a battlefield of lost causes, as the spirits are doomed, regardless of any desire they might have to fight. The nature of hell is to subdue and to punish, and its motions are ministrants of power that deals out anguish.

Theories of Parmenides have different errors, which cannot apply in the world (vidyate, 2014). Demonstration of the derivatives of corollaries The demonstration of the derivatives of corollaries is very clear to expressing the basics of being. For example, eyes identify the color of the objects, hands find the shapes of objects, etc. , but main thing is the being of subjects that enables the natural things to work. Eyes are nothing without the existence of other things, hands are noting without main subjects. Shapes and colors are nothing without other being existences (Thomism, 2013). According to the metaphor of sharing, there is a sense of strangeness for considering the situations. For considering the current situations, there is a natural interconnected system in human beings, which present the entities in the form of derivations. In the result, the signals for connections differentiated the originalities via interconnection system (Wood, 2012). There is a network of signs and ideas, which results in limited, derivatives, or arbitrary outcomes. Parmenides signifies these outcomes by indicating some reasons, e.g. , unity and plurality, form and formlessness, ignorance and knowledge, mastery and slavery, etc. We will write a custom essay sample on Intro to philosophy or any topic specifically for you Only $17.96 $11.86/pageorder now The terms of signify describe the differences and relations to every relevant object in the context of originally interconnected metaphorically (Wood, 2012). In simple words, there are many chances to reduce the chances of manifold of being in the presence of disclosure derivative modes. Derivatives are useful for indefinite potential repetitions to reduce the chances of disclosures through intellectual ways. There is a legitimate circulatory system to deal with the kind of issues, and this is called being accordingly theorem. Metaphysical implications of Parmenides According to the philosophy of Parmenides, bringing actual changes in the world is very impossible. He believes in both thoughts of existence and non-existences with the help of his theories and poems. In start, the metaphysics implications of Parmenides got popularity all over the world (in the field of philosophy), but these concepts were failed because of time consuming and confusing conditions (fiu, 2010). The evolutionary and enigmatic Greek philosopher, the Parmenides of Elea, was an earliest defender of the Eleatic metaphysics. He argued for the importance of homogeneity and challenged the importance of being by refusing numerous apparent of the world over time and space (Theory, 2012).
